| If your course uses automatic enrolment, the old students will be unenroled and the new students will be enroled during the semester break. If you are using Moodle student artefacts for grades you will need to complete your grading before the students are unenroled. If you want all old student data removed and your course to be reset before the new students are enroled, here is the process. |
Course Backup |

Click Backup in the Settings block If your backup was successful, you will see a confirmation screen. CLICK HERE FOR IMAGE. This creates a backup zip file of the course and saves it in your private backup area. From here you can choose to restore this to a new course (if you have course creator privileges) or download and save it onto your local computer or H drive for future use. CLICK HERE FOR IMAGE. |
This feature allows you to empty a course of user data, while retaining the activities and other settings. Please be warned that you will delete your chosen user data from this course forever!
Click Reset in the Settings blockBE SURE YOU HAVE ALL THE STUDENT DATA YOU NEED FROM THE COURSE BEFORE YOU DO THIS Decided what events, logs and notes you wish to delete, what you are deleting from grade perspective and from forums and other student participative activities. You can choose the "Select default" button at the bottom of the page to select the most likely options automatically. Click reset course. It is now ready for the next semester. Te Puna Ako cannot restore your course after you reset it if you have not made a complete backup of the course before you reset it. |

To set course availability to students go to Edit settings in the Settings block
Scroll down until you see the section labelled "Availability"
Change the drop down to available or unavailable as required

Press the save changes button to save your settings ![]()
