Introduction to Maori language, culture and history elective designed to enhance Maori students cultural identity.

This elective course is specifically for the Whai Ake scholarship recipients as a cultural component of their scholarship programme.
Maia offer the following services and support of Maori Teaching & Learning Initiatives at Unitec:

Matauranga Maori Electives
A range of Maori language, culture and arts courses. These are Level 5 - 15credit courses that are available to Unitec staff, students and the community.

Kura Po
Free ten week Maori language courses from Introductory (Level 1) through to Proficiency (Level 4). These are delivered 1 class per week in the evenings.

Matauranga Maori Curriculum Development
Support for Unitec Staff to embed Matauranga Maori components into courses and teaching and learning practice.

Te Noho Kotahitanga Staff Induction
An engaging induction for new staff into Te Noho Kotahitanga - The Partnership strategy at Unitec.
