This course is about introducing the fundamental concepts and principles of cyber-security. It is to increase the awareness of students of the importance of security in information systems and how to identify security risks and the security mechanisms over several levels, starting from the physical level, through devices and network infrastructure, up to applications and software.
The course is delivered through collaborative activities, with the concentration on practical aspects when it is convenient, and read case studies. the assessment consists of two parts:
- Portfolio (60%): throughout the course, students are required to write short reports to cover different security principles and concepts.
- Report (40%): Students works in pairs to analysis the security threats and solutions for a given case study.
- There is no exam for this course.
