This course is about introducing the fundamental concepts and principles of cyber-security. It is to increase the awareness of students of the importance of security in information systems and how to identify security risks and the security mechanisms over several levels, starting from the physical level, through devices and network infrastructure, up to applications and software.
The course is delivered through collaborative activities, with the concentration on practical aspects when it is convenient, and read case studies. the assessment consists of two parts:
- Portfolio (60%): throughout the course, students are required to write short reports to cover different security principles and concepts.
- Report (40%): Students works in pairs to analysis the security threats and solutions for a given case study.
- There is no exam for this course.

This course aims to promote the development of a theoretical and practical understanding of the role that technologies can play in enabling creative enterprise. This course will foster a sense of engagement with a broad range of current technologies, digital content platforms and new media associated with content creation.
This course will provide students with the ability to explore and engage in the entire creative workflow for creative enterprises including research and project development. The focus is on providing students with skills for establishing and maintaining successful collaborations, including the provision of successful models and tools for solving unexpected and complex problems.
By focusing primarily on Māori inquiry, students will develop a broad understanding of cultural sensitivity, ethics and appropriate methodologies of key practitioners and theorists associated with a specialist area of study. From a firm Māori foundation (kaupapa), this course will adequately prepare students to investigate Māori and other indigenous issues and concerns in a variety of contexts.
