The aim of this course is to analyse, apply and reflect on the core components and pedagogy of specific activities within a practical physical education programme.
This course aims to develop skills in designing, and facilitating programmes in adapted physical activity. Course content explores the unique needs and abilities of active individuals within special population group such as physical and intellectual disability. The course focuses on the planning and implementation of effective adapted physical activity programmes.
To provide students with an opportunity to complete an in-depth analysis of a chosen topic, with a view to gaining a degree of mastery through selected study in a specialist area. To provide an opportunity for students to integrate the theoretical knowledge obtained through literature reviews and/or critical reflections and apply this to a practical setting in a problem solving project.

This is a project-based course which means that most of the learning and assessment is achieved through the completion of a project. Students are expected to apply what they have learnt on previous courses to the progress their project with only some guidance from the tutor.

This blended course, combining online activities and face-to-face workshops, helps you to master the skills to achieve successful postgraduate supervision.
The course aims to build the confidence, skills and knowledge of Unitec staff to apply for grants funding for a research project.
It is designed to be a blended approach, with face-to-face sessions to provide expert and peer support on the actual application writing, so that by the end of the course participants will have final draft of a grant application completed. This work can be submitted for an actual application or will contain enough details to use as a template for cutting and pasting to other applications.
