Firstly let me say what a pleasure it has been to discuss these sociological ideas with you over the last few weeks. I am very impressed with the engagement you are all showing and the range of thinking that i have seen demonstrated in class. Again i want to remind you that these are some complex concepts and it is o.k to feel a little overwhelmed. Take small steps, and be kind to yourself on this learning journey.
I have uploaded the power-points in both power-point and PDF format for all previous weeks. The PDF version should be accessible to those who may not yet have power point installed on their laptops or other devices. If you have missed any in-class time, please do go back and explore that weeks content as many ideas that we discuss in future classes will build on previous ideas.
Assessment due date: To confirm our discussion in class, we agreed to extend the due date of assessment 1 by another week. This is to both give you more time and to allow for this weeks content which may cover some of the concepts that you may wish to apply to your reflection. The new due date for assessment one is 27th August.
This week we will be discussing part 1 on diversity and difference and some the sociological concepts that are used to try and make sense of social, cultural and individual diversity.
