Academic Integrity definition

Image from Public domain If you show Academic Integrity, you produce your own work and you are honest about how you have used other people’s work. You make it clear when you are copying something or using an idea you have heard or seen somewhere else. We explain a bit more about this on the Unitec website under Study Support – Academic Integrity. We want to see your ideas and hear your voice in your assessments, not someone else’s! This “someone else” includes Chat GPT or other Generative AI (Gen AI) tools unless your assessment instructions specify that it is allowed. Using someone else’s ideas or words without proper referencing goes against the values of academic integrity. Use ideas from your reading – but take care to acknowledge where they are form, by referencing or other methods explained by your teacher.
