Linux-based webservice outages

Thursday 22 October 2026

Kia ora koutou | Greetings to all,

Currently, we are responding to apply updates to our webservices which are supported by the Linux operating system.

These services include Moodle, our external websites and intranets.

This is due to issues detected with Linux globally.

The work we are doing is required to ensure the security of our systems and the information we hold.

It may mean some services are unavailable temporarily for parts of today.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and assure you we are working hard to restore normal service.

Ngā mihi | Thanks

Digital Team, MIT and Unitec.
