Ākonga must receive feedback for each assessment in time to learn from it before submitting the next assessment.

The first thing to check is that all the ākonga enrolled in your course are listed in Gradebook. Then you can add the assessment results.

If any learners attend lectures but are not listed in Gradebook or SEATS, direct the learner/s to Student Central to complete their enrolment.

Send an email with learner details for all those who are enrolled but not attending classes and have not submitted any assignments directly to academicadministration@unitec.ac.nz. Enrolment Processing can then confirm the learner's status and 'drop' or 'withdraw' the learner if required.

Find Gradebook here via the Nest:

After internal moderation, marks should be entered into PeopleSoft Gradebook.

Top tip: If you input the grades as soon as they have been moderated, it will be easier to manage the workload at the end of the semester.  Final grade ratification occurs within 15 working days of the course completion date.

There should never be any missing grades in Gradebook at grade ratification. If there are any DEF (deferred) grades, you need to add a comment in the comment box with a short explanation e.g., AC granted (date)

Make sure you know the Programme regulations that affect your course.  For instance:, does your Programme have any standard information about assessments that you need to know:

    • Are any assessments 'must pass'?
    • What happens if a learner Does Not Complete all the assessments?
    • What happens if a learner misses the submission date?
    • Do the assessments match the Course Descriptor?
    • Are ākonga allowed to resit or resubmit an assessment?

Here is a link to the Moderation Policy stored on the Nest.

Entering the grades is a big responsibility, and we need to ensure it is 100% accurate, as we are demonstrating rangatiratanga (authority and responsibility) and kaitiakitanga (guardianship) during the grade processes. Working in pairs with a colleague when entering grades is a good idea so you can double-check that they are all loaded correctly.
